Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out to us at presidentrobalos@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Your child should be able to swim one length of the swimming pool on their belly and on their back without stopping.

**Young swimmer assessments will take place the first day of practice, April 27th, at 3:30pm**

The deadline for registration for the 2026 Robalos season is 11:59pm on May 29th.

The PowerPoint presentation slides can be found under the news/announcement tab (top right of home page).

Your child does not have to come to practice every day. It is encouraged to make at least 2 practices weekly for maintenance of skills and speed and to attend swim meets. To improve on skills and speed, 3 to 4 practices a week are recommended.

Each meet is unique based on location, number of swimmers and any technical difficulties that cause delays. Usually, meets will finish early afternoon ~ 1:00pm but some do go later than this.

The Championship meet is an ALL-DAY event, typically ending around 4:30 - 5:00pm.

Time trials are a practice swim meet to establish each swimmer’s beginning of season swim times for each event.

Swimmers will swim their events just like they would in a regular meet, but the main goal is to record a baseline time.

These times are used to:

  • Place swimmers in the correct heats and lanes at future meets
  • Track improvement throughout the season
  • Ensure fair and competitive races

Time trials are low-pressure and focused on helping swimmers get comfortable with meet procedures (starting blocks, timers, officials, etc.).

It’s a great way to kick off the season!

In addition to registration with ARD, you also need to fill out a registration for your swimmer on Active.com. This is how swim meets are organized, and where all team communications will come from.
